Frantic, frazzled and faffing? This could be why…

Is your to-do list overwhelming?

If so, you’re not alone.

Yes, there are people out there who have a happy relationship with their to-do lists. But there are many, many others who find theirs completely exhausting and anxiety-inducing.

It’s no surprise that most people who connect with me and my work are in the ‘my to-do list is driving me nuts’ category.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from working with those people it’s that quite often it’s the LIST itself that’s driving them nuts and not, as you might think, the myriad of things that are ON that list.

If you have a dysfunctional relationship with your to-do list, I’d hazard a guess that either:

a)      you have a very long list of to-dos that just keeps on getting longer

or

b)     you have to-dos all over the place, with notebooks, post-its, scraps of paper, apps and brain space all full of tasks and ideas to action.

When you have one long list that you keep adding to, you can’t help but fixate on all the things you haven’t done. It’s impossible to know what to do first and panic can kick in before you’ve even started.

When you’ve got lots of lists all over the place you’re never quite sure whether you’ve remembered everything.

It’s hard to choose what to do first when you can’t see all your options.

And it’s easy to keep saying ‘yes’ to things, overcommitting yourself because you can’t clearly see everything that’s on your plate.

Possible side effects of both these approaches include

overwhelm,

frazzlement,

headaches,

confusion,

procrastination,

angst,

faffing,

loss of sleep

and fear of forgetting something important.

Sound familiar?

Have you accepted that to-do lists are stressful and there’s nothing you can do about it?

Or are you ready to change things up a bit and discover a different way?

You could do what so many others do – hunt for the perfect app or planner that’ll help you gain control and get organised. There’s nothing wrong with that and it certainly works for some people.

Others need a more personalised approach. They need to be shown a different way by someone who’ll gently guide them to explore how to make it work for them. I promise it IS possible to find joy in a to-do list that actually supports you in getting the right things done at the right time.

That’s why I created Tame Your To-Do List. To share a system that works with people who are ready to take charge of their to-dos. If that’s you, get your name on the waiting list to be first in line when the doors open on 1st September.

I’d love for you to join the growing ranks of people who feel supported by their to-do list so you can focus on building a business and a life you love. Are you in?
