What you’re wondering about Make It Happen Club (but don’t want to ask)

What we do in Make It Happen Club isn’t rocket science:

We meet once a quarter and once a month to create spacious, flexible, achievable plans that will help you stay focused and get stuff done.

It’s simple and it’s unique, and it can be hard to wrap your head around if you haven’t experienced it first-hand.

So today, I’m going to address what I know you might be thinking, but don’t want to ask! 😉

Starting with the obvious question:

“What do you actually DO in Make It Happen Club?”

We gather together in Zoom once a month, and I walk you through a planning process where you’ll:

  • Remember your vision and goals

  • Celebrate your achievements and notice the lessons from the previous month

  • Check in with your capacity

  • Make a list of important tasks for the month ahead

  • Review your list to ensure it feels doable, and includes space for fun and rest

  • Prioritise and protect space for the things that’ll make the biggest impact

  • Get motivated by Future You

  • Set an intention for your month

I’m there to guide you, but the space is calm and quiet (unless you choose to have background music at your end – I know that helps some people to focus!)

Apart from the occasional cat wandering in front of someone’s camera, there are no distractions in Make It Happen Club. And apart from 5 minutes of optional sharing at the end, the only voice you’ll hear during the sessions is mine.

This is a space for you to DO the work. Not to sit and listen to what everyone else is up to, get tempted by shiny objects or compare yourself to others.

By the end of each session you’ll have an action plan in your hands that will keep you on track throughout the month.

“So this isn’t a community, then?”

Not in the way you might think, no.

There’s no Facebook group, Slack channel, Whatsapp group or anything like that. Why? Because those are distractions that don’t sit comfortably alongside Make It Happen Club’s sole purpose: to help you get stuff done.

But even though there’s no chatting or networking, there’s something unifying about coming together to sit quietly alongside your peers, knowing you’re all working on the same thing – a motivating, achievable monthly plan that’ll help you grow your business.

As Sue said, "it's quite magical to do all that thinking and planning in the same space as others, with your gentle steer! For the first time in ages, I'm doing the right thing at the right time and that feels good."

“I’m an intelligent human - can’t I just do all this myself?”

Well, yes. And also no.

I mean, sure, you COULD do it yourself. But WILL you? And will you give it the time and space it needs to actually be effective (i.e. help you get stuff done without falling into overwhelm)?

There’s no judgement here - and if this feels familiar, please know it’s not just you - but if doing it yourself means squeezing your monthly planning into a spare 10 minutes in between calls, you’re short changing yourself.

You’re missing out on the extra clarity and motivation that comes when you allow yourself time not just to write your list, but to look at your capacity, to check in with your vision and goals, to step away from your list, reflect, review and adjust.

Our monthly momentum planning sessions last 90-minutes because I know that’s how long it takes to do it properly. To feel a deep connection to what you’re doing and why. To protect time for what’s most important. And to set yourself up for success.

The other risk with DIY-ing it is that you’ll deprioritise it if something ‘more important’ comes along, meaning before you know it a few months have passed and you haven’t given yourself a moment to lift your head above the weeds.

With Make It Happen Club the time is protected for you. And when you keep showing up month after month after month, you’ll be amazed at how much progress you make.

“I’ve tried All The Things to get organised, and nothing has worked. Why should this be any different?”

It’s disheartening when nothing works, so of course you’re wary of diving into something new!

But here’s what one member said after a few months in Make It Happen Club.

“My past experience with planning has been either I get stuck in the actual planning phase, or I map everything out and come up with all sorts of plans and intentions, and then ignore them.

But the process in Make It Happen Club feels so spacious and freeing, I felt a difference right away and was able to schedule things into my calendar and actually get them done!

By the end of my first month, I’d completed most things on my list. I quite surprised myself by how much I'd achieved.”

It’s powerful stuff, and the words ‘magical’ and ‘miraculous’ have been used more than once!

But if you’re looking for a slightly more scientific explanation, I wrote a blog called ‘How Make It Happen Club helps solo business owners be more productive”. You can read that here.

“But I’m already so busy, I’m not sure I have the time!”

I get it. You’ve got a lot going on! So I’ll keep this brief, and hit you with some simple maths!

Let’s say you lose even just half an hour a day to faffing. That’s 10 hours of lost focus every single month.

One 90-minute planning session in Make It Happen Club will give you back that 10 hours by setting you up for an on-purpose, productive month.

Imagine what you could achieve if instead of frittering it away, you were using that time purposefully!

So with that in mind, my question for you is this:

Is it worth investing around 1.5% of your working hours every month so you can make better use of the other 98.5%?

“Ok, I get it. But is this REALLY worth the investment?”

The investment for Make It Happen Club is £90pm.

Yes, you could join an online membership that’s jam-packed with information, resources, loads of calls and networking for less than that. But that’s like comparing apples to oranges, because Make It Happen Club is not that kind of space.

It’s not about loading you up with inspiration and ideas. It’s about helping you get things done.

Imagine what you’ll be able to accomplish in your business – how much more you’ll be earning – when you’re getting the important things done.

But more than that, imagine how you’ll FEEL in your business – how much more confident and capable you’ll feel - when you’re ticking things off your list and seeing your projects finished and out in the world.

THAT’S what you’re investing in when you join Make It Happen Club: the ability to finally get the things on your to-do list done, whilst feeling calm and in control.

Is that worth the cost of a daily coffee to you?

Even if you’re sceptical, there’s no risk involved in giving it a go - I offer a money-back guarantee AND the chance to cancel within the first three months if you realise Make It Happen Club isn’t for you. See the FAQs at the bottom of this page for more info about that.

“I’m not a business owner. Will this work for me?”

The process I guide you through isn’t specific to running a business - it’s about helping you use your time wisely, whatever your situation. However, Make It Happen Club might not work so well for you if you have a role that’s very reactive. We’re making choices about what to focus on during the month, so it’s best if you have some autonomy and control over how you’re spending your time.

“Does Make It Happen Club work for people with ADHD?”

Everyone’s different, but there’s something about my spacious, non-prescriptive, flexible approach that seems to work well for people with ADHD.

Take a look at this blog where I explain why:

Five reasons why Make It Happen Club is great for people with ADHD

“Is this only for women?”

Nope! As long as you’re kind, respectful and comfortable with the calm, quiet vibe of the space, you’re very welcome in Make It Happen Club! (And yes, at the time of writing all members happen to be women, but that hasn’t always been the case!)

“When do the planning sessions happen?”

Monthly Momentum Planning Sessions usually take place on the last Thursday of the month, from 4-5.30pm.

Quarterly Big Idea to Inspired Action Planning Sessions take place in December, March, June and September, usually on a Tuesday, and you get to choose whether to join us from 10-11.30am or 4-5.30pm.

To help you plan, dates for all our sessions are available in the Make It Happen Club calendar months in advance.

(All times shown are UK times)

“Are sessions recorded if I can't make it live?”

Yes! Monthly and quarterly planning session recordings are usually uploaded to the members’ area within 24 hours.

Due to the nature of our quarterly Implementation Mornings, those are not recorded.

“Do I get any 1:1 time with you?”

We’ll have our ‘getting to know you’ call during the first month of your membership. After that, there’s no dedicated 1:1 support as part of Make It Happen Club.

For most, our regular planning sessions are enough to keep them focused and on track. However, if you need a little more, you can book a power hour with me for an additional investment of £147. This is exclusive to Club members, and you can book as many power hours as you like during your time in the Club.

“Why is this a 12-month membership? Can’t I just try it for a month to see if I like it?”

Boosting your productivity is not a one-and-done thing. So although you’ll notice the difference right away (as Melina shares in this video), one month is not long enough to set you up for sustainable, long-term success.

The magic of Make It Happen Club is in the repetition. Each time you show up for a monthly planning session you learn something new. You’ll notice how long it takes to get stuff done. You’ll spot the tasks you keep putting off, so you can reflect on why that might be and what you’d like to do about it. Over time, you’ll discover what does and doesn’t feel good when it comes to getting stuff done, uncovering nuggets of wisdom that will serve you as you move forward. That simply isn’t possible if you only show up once.

“Ok, that makes sense. But what if I realise it isn’t for me?”

I know it’s scary to invest in something new, so if you’re worried about committing to Make It Happen Club for a year when you haven’t experienced it yet, I’ve got you!

If after attending your first live planning session you decide the Club isn’t for you, let me know within 7 days and I’ll organise a refund and cancel your membership.

You can also send me an email any time during your first three months in the Club letting me know it’s not working out, and I’ll cancel al future payments from that date forward and remove you from the Club with no judgement and no hard feelings.
